Căuşeni District Prosecutor
First Degree Legal Consultant

" One of the most important aspects of the American legislative I was acquainted with during my OW visit in US was the effeicient approach to the prevention of human traffiking and domestic abuse. Upon my return to Moldova, I did my best to implement several aspects of this new experience in my daily activities as the District Prosecutor in Causeni.

In order to share with my colleagues from the best practices of the Open World visit, the Prosecutor's Office from Causeni invited Richard Chema -Legal Adviser US Embassy in Moldova - to visit our premises and discuss important matters related to the prevention of the human traffiking and domestic abuse subjects.  Two other important guests were Ludmila Avtutova - legal and political consultant and Radu Foltea - legal consultant US Embassy in Moldova.

Mr Chema had an official meeting with the Moldovan prosecutors to discuss institutional changes necessary to transform our legilative system to correspond to international standards based on the rule of law. We have so much to learn from our American colleagues, which is why we are planning to organise more similar events in the future."
