Informational Educational Technologies implemented in „Evrika” Lyceum, Ribnita City

August, 19 2010

We are witnessing a century of a continuous change. Schools became the institutions that bring forward the information through the process of studying. That is why the project of the Modernized Curriculum is proposing to implement the Informational Educational Technologies, program which is emphasizing the importance of using web sites in the process of teaching, learning and assessment.
We are convinced that being up to date and informed with all the last trends makes a teacher interesting and motivating for pupils.
In order to offer our students the necessary competitiveness on the university and eventually on the labor field we should definitely put an emphasis on the Informational Technologies.
Taking into consideration all the above mentioned we are absolutely sure that the decision to open a software office in our school is the correct one. In this way the project called "Providing equipment and furniture for the "Evrika" lyceum, Ribnita city" was launched. It is part of the Participative Development of Communities Program, with the support of USAID and IREX, Orhei.
As a result of the common effort of teachers, parents, pupils, which were guided by Tudor Golub and Andriana Golban, at the end of the 2009 year the office was opened. It consisted of all the necessary furniture, software, computers and an interactive blackboard. The total cost of the project was 269810 lei, out of which 218205 lei represented the IREX and CPP contribution, 33145 lei- donators' contribution and 18459 lei raised from teachers and parents.
This office is now offering the chance for teachers and students to interact through software like Sincron Eyes and Notebook10, which gives the lessons a fascinating atmosphere.
The recent training hosted by our school, impressed a lot our guests from Rezina. Ms Eugenia Halus, Mr Grigore Cojocaru and the directress of the school initiated the pupils into the methods of software running. The maps, images, music and colors created a unique learning environment for the students.
The software office is the place for the Professors' Meetings, during which they are showing the results of their work through diagrams, charts and movies.
The interest towards lessons prepared with the aid of Notebook 10, Power Point, Slide Show Gold is rather big.
The appliance of the Informational Technologies in the learning process is facilitating successfully the capacity of pupils to receive and assimilate the information delivered during the lessons. A lot of students are able to create Web pages, use different online and multimedia tolls.
Internet has a great impact upon the learning practice and the traditional school has to inevitable recognize its influence. The Informational Technologies are putting am emphasis on developing the analytical and communication skills rather than on memorizing.
At the beginning of May, teachers from Rezina and Ribnita were provided with the possibility to use the software office. They learned to interact in the iEArn network, being guided Daniela Munca, PhD, Open World facilitator. She presented the information in a very interactive way, using slide shows, short movies, Internet links.
The training was delivered in 4 languages: Romanian, Russian, English and French. Daniela Munca created a special atmosphere during the training, so that nobody was afraid to put questions and be active. This training will definitely be a practical one with a significant output for our future work.
In conclusion I can state that it is necessary to form an informational culture for students and teachers that would guide them to an efficient learning environment.
