FLEX EFL Camp 2012

August, 13 2012

One of the most exciting summer projects run by American Councils Moldova is the FLEX EFL camp for FLEX finalists from all over Eurasia. This year, 20 students from 9 countries: Serbia, Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Armenia who became FLEX finalists, spent one month in the capital of Moldova - Chisinau in order to participate in the English as a Foreign Language summer camp.

Starting with July 6th through August 6th the EFL camp in Chisinau created a multicultural environment and a friendly atmosphere for its participants, who had to prove their FLEXibility, commitment and open-mindedness while improving their English during 3 classes per day: Writing, Grammar and Conversation. In addition to academics, FLEX students were involved in many extra-curricular activities, such us: Art and Drama Clubs, Tour of Chisinau, Bowling, Orhei Trip, Art Labyrinth, American Picnics etc.
The camp offered its participants a better view of what American life will be like in US. They also made new international friends, acquired new learning skills, improved their English and felt like world citizens.

"It was my first year with EFL. I did not know what to expect from this experience. However, students surpassed all my expectations. They were so sociable, friendly and hard-working. I could feel the team spirit and the commitment to group work. Each of them had something special, something unique. I believe the year in America will be a life- changing experience. I miss them already."
