Enhancing Partnerships: Access Miroscholarship Program and B.P.Hasdeu Municipal Library

To celebrate its 136 birthday, the Municipal Library “B.P. Hasdeu” from Chisinau organized a series of events and the annual conference entitled “Civic Engagement” with the topic “e-Transformation of Libraries” which has the goal to promote the idea that the library is an institution that wants to interact and collaborate with the community and the society.

In this context, the American Councils delegated the representatives of the Access Microscholarship Program as experts in using the online tools  to share the important information online and to provide  E-Learning via iEARN (www.iearn.org )  and Skype classes. This way, the coordinator of the program, Olga Morozan, made a presentation with the topic “Online Platforms for Collaboration in Education and Data Centralization” and shared with the audience the online tools the Access teachers use and the successful achievements of our program, such as civic engagement projects developed, implemented online via educational tools such as www.kerpoof.com, www.glogster.com , www.toondoo.com, etc. and shared virtually on “We Do Change the World” Blog .

This sharing of experience represented a good source of inspiration and a good practicing model for librarians who intend to initiate new E-Learning concepts into their system.  Also, it offered a new possibility of a perspective strategic and educational partnership to reciprocally share the information and experience.

The event was widely publicized via mass media (online and  at TRM radio broadcast)
