December, 19 2016

Otilia Cirstea, Access student from Balti, decided to raise the people's awareness about recycling and initiated a campaign for collecting paper that can be reused. She managed to gather around 300 old books and other types of paper: cardboard, newspapers and toilet paper rolls, etc., which she later sold to a recycling company.

The money she got from selling the paper, 700 lei, was donated to a local orphanage and she also bought some candy to the children who stay there. Besides this, Otilia planned some activities for kids in order to teach them what recycling is and why it is so important for our society. Besides, she helped the students to make some crafts and origami our of used paper. The children loved the action and actively participated in creating their own origami.
