8 Access teams of students and alumni participated in the "Access Youth Voice" Project

From October to December 2015,  almost150 Access students and alumni from 8 regions of Moldova (Edinet, Bender, Hincesti, Causeni, Grigoriopol, Ribnita, Balti, and Ungheni) joined the "Access Youth Voice" Project, which main goals were:
(1) to empower the participants' social, linguistic, cultural, civic and digital skills through a series of online instructional game-like stages,
(2) to enforce the Access students' motivation by nominating and awarding best Access students;
(3) to maintain the spirit of activism among Access alumni, by involving them in competition and collaborative projects; and
(4) to strengthen the Access community network around the country.

After 6 weeks of online tutoring and instruction, on December 26, 2015 each team delegated 5 best representatives to take part in the National "Access Youth Voice" Competition, where they proved their abilities in sharing facts about US culture and civilization, developing and implementing civic engagement projects, and delivering a public speech on global issues.

The project ended up with 8 big civic-engagement projects the teams developed and successfully implemented in 8 regions of the country, aimed to address the issues of social injustice and discrimination towards people with disabilities (Access-Edinet: "Different but Equal"), early age English education ( Access-Causeni: "Learn English through Creativity"), social inclusion (Access-Hincesti: " A Holiday for Everybody"), improving the community infrastructures (Access-Grigoriopol: "Colorful Town. Make Your World Better"), health problems (Access-Balti Alumni: "A Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body", and Access-Bender Alumni: "A Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body from Childhood"), environment (Access-Ribnita: "The Struggle for The Environment"), and people's affectional mercilessness (Access-Ungheni Alumni:"Christmas Time is Sharing Time")

Previous news
Access Soroca, during their short spring break decided to do some volunteering around their community. They decided to help two social vulnerable families from their community.
"Books and Blogs" module was successfully in Access Sites where students had to create a site blog and write creative stories on it.
On April 22, Access Students from Taraclia had organized a GYSD project for their community, in order to do that, they have invited NSLI-Y students to join them into city quest and they have planted red flowers in the shape of a ribbon to create an HIV/AIDS awareness campaign.
