Access Students Discovering the Mysteries of Poetry

March, 31 2014

World Poetry Day is celebrated by the whole world on March 21. It is an invitation to reflect on the power of language and the full development of each person's creative abilities. It also supports linguistic diversity through poetic expression and offers endangered languages the opportunity to be heard within their communities. This year, Access Microscholarship Program Moldova joined this event and the Access students had the opportunity to talk about the great poets of the whole world and to share their emotions and feelings through poetry. A lot of interesting activities related to poetry were organized. For example, the Access Balti students played the role of famous poets and were asked to read some poems and to represent their messages through cartoons. All the Access students were invited to embark on writing their own poems in English. This task helped them to discover their hidden talents, the mysteries of poetry and the power of language.
Please find some of the masterpieces of our students below:
Regrets
I'm really sorry that you never
Will know that my love for you's forever.
You'll never know that I was born for you
This, maybe, sounds stupid, but believe, it's true.

I walk alone with tears on my face
I walk alone through our sweaty place.
I know I have never been your love
But why, to understand this, it's really so hard?

You are with her, but where is your mind?
You think of me, but heart, it is still dying!
(Adriana Pampariova- Access Balti)

What do you know about myself?
I am so tired again to pretend.
I am so tired, again and again
Hide my feelings, hide my pain.
What do you know about my soul?
To break it in parts,
Was it your goal?
What if I will run far away?
Will you realize, it wasn't a game?
What if I will, break all this chains?
Maybe you'll understand, what was a case.
Maybe tomorrow, in light of sunshine
I'll get my wings, I'll learn how to fly.
(Bandarenco Marina- Access Balti)

Access

Every Thursday
Every Friday
Interchange and student's book
We learn English very good
Autumn, winter
Spring and summer
Goal in our mind we have
How to go to the USA

ACCESS teaches
English better
ACCESS teaches to be good
We love ACCESS for it matters
The opportunity it gives

Spring is Access
With new beginnings
Like a dandelion with fish
It is a fairy
It is a blessing
It is our golden fish.

ACCESS wishes a trip in summer
To see the world with our own eyes
Ialoveni will do its best
Just respond to this request.
(Access Ialoveni)

Plant a flower,
Save a tree,
Create the summer
And you will be free.
The world is happy
People have dreams
We are the babies
And we can believe.
(Ursu Liliana- Access Straseni)

Without you

Without you I'm like
the sea without fish,
I'm like sky
without stars and moon.

Without you I'm like
a bird without wings,
I'm like the sun
without rays...

(Cristina Busila, Access-Chisinau)

Without you

Without you I'm like
a morning breakfast without tea,
I'm like a dancing body
without music.

Without you I'm like
space without planets,
I'm like a body
without bones.

(Maxim Alexandriuc, Access-Chisinau)
